Why swim lessons are worth planning for
- Lessons and drowning risk. In a US case-control study, children aged 1 to 4 who had taken formal swim lessons had an 88% lower risk of drowning. The estimate was imprecise (a wide confidence interval), and the study could not show cause and effect.1
