Terms of Use
Effective date: October 19, 2026
These terms apply when you visit www.aquatictherapyuniversity.com (the "Site"), create an account, or buy or take a course, webinar, program, membership or other product from us. By using the Site, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
1. Who we are
The Site is run by ATU Educational Services, LLC (Aquatic Therapy University) ("ATU", "we", "us").
- Address: 1143 Oak Ridge Turnpike #226, Oak Ridge, TN 37830 USA
- Email: info@swimatu.com
- Phone: (865) 204-0618
The Site runs on LearnWorlds, an online course platform. Payments are processed by Stripe.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or buy from us.
- Give accurate information, and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password private. An account is for one person. Do not share your login or let others take courses through your account.
- You may sign in with Google, Facebook, LinkedIn or Apple. If you do, that service's terms also apply to the sign-in.
- Facility and organization accounts. If an organization buys seats or licenses for its staff, each seat is for one named person. The organization's account manager can see the progress and completion records of the seats it buys.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. You can ask us to close your account at any time.
3. Courses, webinars and digital products
- When you buy a course, webinar recording, program, bundle, membership or other digital product, you get a personal, non-transferable right to access and view it for your own professional education. This lasts for the access period shown on the product page.
- You may not copy, record, download (unless we offer a download), share, resell, publicly show or teach from our course materials, or post them online.
- We may update, reorganize or retire courses. If we retire a course you have paid for during its access period, we will try to give you reasonable notice or a comparable alternative.
- Gifts. If you buy a course as a gift, the person who redeems it is bound by these terms.
- Fulfillment. All our products are digital and delivered electronically. Nothing is shipped. After purchase, you can reach your product in your account, and you will get an email with access details. Make sure your email address is correct.
4. Continuing education credit and recognition
- Continuing education (CE) approvals differ by profession and state, and they can change. The approvals that apply are listed on each course page and on our CE Approvals page. You are responsible for checking that a course meets your licensing board's requirements. We do not guarantee that any board or employer will accept a course.
- To receive a certificate of completion, you must finish all required parts of the course, including any tests or evaluations.
- ATU Clinical Aquaticist Associate™ (Tier I, 36 hours) and ATU Clinical Aquaticist™ (Tier II, 84 hours) are certificates of advanced recognition issued by ATU for completing the stated coursework. They are not a license, a board certification, or an ongoing certification. They do not need renewal and do not authorize anyone to practice.
5. Live webinars and live classes
- Live webinars. Dates and times are shown in the time zone on the product page. If we must reschedule or cancel a webinar, we will offer the new date, a recording, or another option. Whether a recording is provided, and for how long, is shown on the product page.
- Live in-person classes hosted by a facility. Some live classes are registered and paid for through the host facility's website. For those, the host's registration, payment and cancellation terms apply.
- Live classes registered directly with ATU (including custom on-site training): the cancellation, transfer and refund terms are the ones in your written quote, agreement or registration confirmation from ATU. If you have questions before you register, email info@swimatu.com.
6. Prices and payment
- Prices are in US dollars and are shown on each product page. We may change prices at any time, but a change will not affect an order you have already paid for.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.
- Discount and promotional codes are valid only on their stated terms and cannot be exchanged for cash.
- You are responsible for any taxes that apply.
7. Memberships and subscriptions
Some products, such as the 12-month webinar memberships, give access for a set period. The product page shows the price, the access period and whether the product renews. If a product renews automatically, the renewal price and date are shown before you buy, and you can cancel before the renewal date by emailing info@swimatu.com or, where offered, from your account.
8. Refunds
Digital products. As our digital products are delivered instantly, all sales are final and we do not offer refunds, returns or exchanges. Please review your order carefully before you complete your purchase.
If something goes wrong. If you cannot reach a product you paid for, or you were charged by mistake or twice, email info@swimatu.com and we will fix the problem. If you were charged twice or by mistake, we will refund the extra charge.
Live classes, live webinars and memberships. Live webinars and memberships are digital products, so the policy above applies. For live classes, see section 5: a class booked through a host facility follows the host's cancellation terms, and a class registered directly with ATU follows the terms in your quote, agreement or registration confirmation.
Nothing in this section takes away a refund or cancellation right that the law gives you and that cannot be waived.
9. Who owns the content
- The Site and all course materials, including videos, slides, handouts, tests and text, are owned by ATU Educational Services, LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law.
- ATU names and marks, such as ATU Clinical Aquaticist™, ATU Clinical Aquaticist Associate™, AquaCognition™ and FAST Skills™, belong to ATU. You may not use them in a way that suggests ATU endorses you or your services.
- Instructors' and guest presenters' materials may belong to them and are used with permission.
10. Linking to the Site
You may link to any page of the Site, including deep links to a course, program or blog post. Please do not frame the Site or suggest that ATU endorses you.
11. What you post or upload
Some courses let you post comments, take part in discussions or upload assignments. You keep ownership of what you post, but you allow ATU to host, show and use it to run the course. Do not post anything unlawful, abusive or misleading, or another person's private or health information. Never post patient-identifying information. We may remove content that breaks these rules.
12. Acceptable use
Please do not:
- break the law or anyone's rights when using the Site;
- try to get around access controls, share paid content, or get into parts of the Site that are not meant for you;
- use robots, scrapers or other automated tools to copy course content, or interfere with how the Site works;
- pretend to be someone else.
13. Educational purpose only
The content of the Site and our courses is for educational and informational purposes only. It is meant for licensed and student rehabilitation professionals. It is not legal, medical or billing advice, and it does not create a provider–patient or attorney–client relationship. Laws, payer policies and professional rules vary by state and change over time. Check them before you apply anything in practice. Taking an ATU course does not guarantee licensure, certification or reimbursement, and it does not replace professional judgment.
14. Third-party services
The Site uses services run by others, including LearnWorlds (the course platform), Stripe (payments), Google Analytics, and, for some live sessions, video-meeting tools. Their terms and privacy policies also apply when you use them. We are not responsible for their services.
15. No warranties
We provide the Site and courses "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that course content will meet your needs.
16. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, ATU, its owners, instructors and staff are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses. Our total liability for any claim about a product will not exceed the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
17. Ending your access
We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, for example by sharing your login or course materials. If we end access for a reason that is not your fault, we will try to give you notice.
18. Affiliate program
ATU runs an invitation-only affiliate program. It is governed by our Affiliate Program Terms. Some links on the Site, or links that other people share with you, may be affiliate links. If you buy through one, the affiliate may earn a commission from ATU.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here and update the effective date. Changes do not affect purchases made before the change, unless the law allows it.
20. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you have a concern, please email info@swimatu.com first so we can try to resolve it informally.
