Debbie Torrellas, MT
Caribbean CampusKinFloat founderWoman Entrepreneur 2009
Debbie Torrellas has helped reshape what rehabilitation means in the Caribbean by bringing innovative aquatic modalities to Puerto Rico.
Meet Debbie
She is the founder and director of KinFloat Aqua Wellness Center in San Juan — the first integrated aquatic wellness center of its kind in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean — and she directs Aquatic Therapy University's Caribbean Campus so therapists across the region can grow in the water.
She designed the KinAcuaYogi Method (and KinAqua Flow trainings) for whole-person empowerment in water, has provided Dolphin Assisted Therapy in the Caribbean for more than a decade, and has published two books: The Water Kite Journey, Get Wet and Heal! and Vuela. In 2009 the Municipality of San Juan honored her with its Woman Entrepreneur award.
As an ATU instructor and AquaCognition contributor (not developer), Debbie pairs evidence-minded teaching with hands-on Caribbean campus hospitality.
